SURVIVOR INFO & RESOURCES

Updated  May 26, 2002

In establishing these links I have focused on sites which have been developed by my fellow survivors, and have not included any links to 'professional' resources, as it is my interest to foster a survivor to survivor approach to dealing with what get defined as 'mental health' issues. In my opinion there is no better teacher than first-hand experience -- some things cannot be learned from a book. As it stands, professional models of 'caring' have as their basis a model which focuses on controlling unwanted behavior rather than assisting people in dealing with (self-defined) personal issues, and relies on oppressive, unequal power relationships to achieve their goals. Some of the authors of pages linked here do include professional resources -- that is at the sole discretion of the authors. I assume no responsibility for the contents of these sites.

If you find any links which are broken or require updating please e-mail me.
